Vetrea
Brewton
Jan 4, 1976 — Jul 27, 2021
Vetrea Shante was born on Sunday, January 4, 1976 at Huntsville Hospital to two of the proudest parents heaven could have appointed. God was continuously praised and thanked for this beautiful little Rose Bud.
Blossoms:
At an early and tender age "V-Cakes" accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as her blessed Savior. Oh, how the angels sang at that precious child's baptism at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L. F. Lacy.
Even under the most critical periods in her young life, this beautiful young woman continued to express her belief in prayer, commitment, and remained strong in the faith. As long as her health allowed, she attended church, immersing herself in God's preached Word and the many wonderful songs of praise emanating from the various choirs of the church.
Flourishes:
In her determination to prepare herself educationally, she graduated from Lee High School in 1994. Following her high school days she entered Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education. In 2008 Vetrea received her Masters of Education degree from Union University in Jackson, TN.
"V-Cakes" fell in love with Craig Hardman and they were married on June 11, 2001. To this union a precious son, Jacob Craig Hardman, was born on December 3, 2001.
While pursuing her passion of working with young people, God was preparing something much greater and more fulfilling.
Withers:
Her health only placed limitations on her physical being, for "V-Cake's" smile and zest for life were forever visible through her infectious laugh, and her cheerful and bubbly personality. These attributes captured the hearts of her many friends and acquaintances.
Fades:
Vetrea was preceded in death by her precious son Devon Brewton; mother, Barbara Humphrey Brewton; paternal grandparents, Ira and Annie L. Brewton and her maternal grandparents Harding and Ocie Phipps.
Life in this beautiful rose gently faded Tuesday morning, July 27, 2021. She is eternally resting in our Loving God's arms. Vetrea's memory remains forever with her devoted and loving son, Jacob Craig Hardiman; her father, Dr. Vern Brewton; brothers, Marlin (Ruth) Humphrey; Tracy Brewton; sisters, Shellie (Melvin) Harris and Lamarreya Conley; aunts, Vivian Kelley; Ola (Jerry) Tibbs; Hilda Calhoun; Grace Lightfoot (late Milton); Ada Phipps; uncle, Billy (Dorothy) Brewton; nieces and nephews Christopher Hobbs Brewton, Kierra Brewton, Marquia Humphrey, Ralph Pruitt, Jr., Mason Humphrey, Marcel Humphrey and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
