Letitia Angela
Jones Crutcher
Jan 23, 1967 — Sep 3, 2021
Born Letitia Angela Jones on January 23, 1967 to Irvin Jones, Jr. and Sophia Mae Jones in New Orleans, Louisiana, Letitia was the third child born to their union and always considered to be loving, humble and the peacemaker. To know Letitia was to truly love her.
Affectionately known as "Tisha" to her family and closest friends, but "Nana" to her grandchildren, she was a delight to be around with an infectious smile she displayed that brought joy to all those who knew her.
Growing up, Tisha excelled in sports and was very competitive always wanting to win. In pick-up games she was often picked on the team to play with the boys. She was just that good. Hard work was something she took very seriously, especially her academic studies, which she instilled in her siblings, children and grandchildren.
Letitia gave her life to God at a young age and would make sure that she attended church and bring her younger siblings along with her. Her faith in God was strong, and her favorite saying was "If I could only touch the hem of His garment, I'd be made whole."
Upon graduating in 1985 from L.B. Landry in New Orleans, Louisiana where she played volleyball, basketball and was a member of JROTC, Tisha received a full scholarship to Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She decided on Oakwood College in Huntsville, AL where she studied for a couple of semesters before returning to New Orleans.
Huntsville wouldn't see the last of Letitia ! She returned in 1991, received employment and made Huntsville HOME! She was employed by Avex Electronics, Tyco Fire Protection and Phoenix Vocational Services where she was employed until she was unable to work.
On September 15, 1997 she was united in holy matrimony to Roger Crutcher and remained in that union until her death. Through health, sickness and whatever obstacles they faced in life, they remained committed to each other and faced trials together.
Family meant the world to Tisha. The bond she shared with her husband, children and grandchildren was unbreakable. She had a special relationship with all three of her children. She taught them hard work and how to hold your peace no matter what, to be the bigger person.
Letitia is preceded in death by: her father, Irvin Jones Jr., nephew, ChristDeshun Reddix; and niece, Capri Reddix.
Letitia is survived by: her husband, Roger Crutcher; daughters, Lanika Jones and Laniya Crutcher; son Lawrence Isles; grandchildren Landen Jones, Marceier Jones, Layoni Shoulders, and Liric McCann; mother, Sophia Jones; mother-in-law, Mary Crutcher; brother-in-law, Robert Birdsong; siblings, Irvin Jones III (Carla), Christina Dench (Robert), Lawrence Jones, Estelle Tyson, Dawn Matthews (Felton), Annette Hampton, and Irvin Jones IV; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
