Dominique Djuan Bennett was born on April 5, 1985, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Monica Patrice Bennett and William Sherman Johnson. He was also lovingly cared for over the years by his maternal grandmother, Jackie Bennett, and his paternal grandmother, Karen Johnson.

Dominique attended both Bob Jones and J.O. Johnson High Schools, but he earned his General Education Diploma almost a year in advance of his high school graduation date. Thereafter, Dominique enrolled at J.F. Drake Technical College to pursue certification in barbering.

Throughout his adult life, Dominique has worked in many positions in the service, manufacturing, and food industries. He was a good fit for most of the jobs he held as his joyful, joking, and jovial personality kept him and others smiling and laughing as they did the hard work. Dominique also did free lance hair cutting from time to time.

Dominique is survived by his father, William Sherman Johnson, and children Kahliyah Blackburn, Kalaisha Bennett, Kaidyn Bennett, Kylon Bennett, Kamryn Bennett, Kayson Bennett, Dominique Bennett, Jr, Destiny Bennett, Da' Mauri Ford-Bennett, Trinity Bennett, Tristen Bennett, Tohiry Bennett, De Ona Bennett, Rylan Bennett, Naziya Bennett, Jaziyah Batts, Jaylin Batts, Armonie Gladys, D'Ariya Ford-Bennett, D'Mauria Ford-Bennett, and Nasir Bennett.

Dominique is also survived by his sister, Eternity Grays; brothers Devin Bennett and Traveon Grays; maternal grandmother Jackie Bennett; paternal grandmother Karen Johnson; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and "Uvalde General" friends.

Graveside service for Mr. Dominique D. Bennett will at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Pastor Gregory Bentley officiating.
