Ms. Willie Mae Watkins, "Mae Mae", was born June 8, 1951, to the late Emmanuel Douglas, Jr. and the late Pearlie Mae Sales in Madison County, Alabama.
Willie Mae confessed hope in Christ at the age of 16 in San Francisco, California where she was baptized. After moving back to Huntsville, Alabama, she united with Douglas Tabernacle Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Anderson Douglas. She remained a member until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Pearlie Mae Watkins Sales; her father, Emmanuel Douglas, Jr.; sister, Captain Earlean J. Bradley; aunts, Wandru Bell, Ruth Buchanan, Daisy Williams, and Paralee Sandifer; uncles, Luthomas Wilbur "Doll", Mack "MC", Barry "Buddy", and Timothy Watkins, Jr.
Willie Mae leaves to cherish her memories: two loving daughters, Shunqunette Watkins and Tameka McMillan, both of Huntsville, AL; one sister, Sammie Jackson of Huntsville, AL; four aunts, Julia Gordon, Catherine Lightford, and Bobbie Cummings, all of Huntsville, AL and Rocine Moore of Dayton, OH; one grandson, Collin Shumar Watkins of Huntsville, AL; and one godson, Kitao Nance of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside service for Mrs. Willie Mae Watkins will be Friday, August 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Gardens with Elder Dwight Clark officiating.
