Si ster Dorothy Ann Morris Ford was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 5, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Sadie B. Gideon Morris and Willie James Morris.

She confessed Christ at an early age at Hopewell Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. She first attended Hopewell Missionary Baptist church here in Huntsville before uniting with Union Chapel, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed her.

In 1969 she united in matrimony to Robert Earl Ford, Sr. and to this union, Robert Ford, Jr. and Tanisha Ford Phipps were born.

Sister Dorothy departed this life Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 5:00 AM. She was preceded in death by her two (2) sisters, Eddie Mae Bell and Gloria Jean Morris, one (1) brother Larry Gideon, and one (1) special cousin Ronald Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  a loving and devoted husband, Robert Earl Ford, Sr.; daughter, Tanisha Phipps Ford; son Robert Ford, Jr.; brother, Terry Morris; sister, Cynthia Morris; five (5) grandchildren; five (5) great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews; five (5) special cousins, Jeannette Mitchell, Caroline Mitchell, Martha Gideon, Donald Mitchell, Michael Gideon, and other relatives and friends.

Graveside service for Mrs. Dorothy A. Ford will be Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with the Reverend Larry Smith officiating.
