Stevie Joe Sanders , 58, of Huntsville, Alabama transitioned home on July 22, 2021. He was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on May 14, 1963 to the late Freddie B. Sanders and late Lena Bell Sanders. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age. He loved his profession as a cook and dedicated 20 years at the Tom Bevill Conference Center before becoming ill.

He loved his children and the time he spent with his family. He was known for making all that knew him laugh and smile. He took pride in his appearance from his hair down to his cowboy boots or Stacey Adams. Stevie proclaimed himself as "Mac Daddy" because of his self-confidence and dignity. He earned his wings and is now dancing in the loving arms of the Lord.

Stevie is preceded in death by: his parents, Freddie B. Sanders and Lena Bell Sanders; his grandparents, Sidney Foster and Idella Foster; his brothers, Johnny B. Foster, Freddie B. Sanders, Willie B. Sanders, and Earnest H. Sanders; stepbrother, Frank Sanders; and nephew, Khamani O. Sanders.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sons, Steven J. Carr, Terry Sanders, and Desean Sanders; his sister, Inez Norris; his brothers, David L. Sanders, Dennis J. Sanders, Danny L. Sanders, Richard L. Sanders, and Christopher J. Sanders; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and  friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Steve J. Sanders will be Friday, July 30, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

Public viewing: Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 1:00-8:00p.m. and Friday, July 30, 2021 from 9:00am--12:00 p.m. at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home.
