H oward Lee Nance was born January 13, 1941 to the late Leslie Nance (Red) and Ola Mae Nance. Howard transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.  He was preceded in death by: his wife, Dorothy Louise Nance; stepdaughter, Ophelia Price; and two sisters, Louise Pickett and Betty Jean Jordan.

Howard confessed hope in Christ and united with Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charlie Humphrey, Jr.  He served as a faithful and dedicated usher.  He was dedicated in every aspect of his life.  He worked at JCPenney as a maintenance supervisor for 46 years.

Those left to mourn his passing and to remember him with love include: his son, Shawn Lee Douglas (Camilla); four stepsons, William H. Douglas, Raymond C. Douglas (Sylvia), John Lee Douglas (Angelina), all of Huntsville, AL and Curtis Douglas of Fayetteville, TN; two stepdaughters, Rosalind Douglas and Jaqueline L. Burrus of Huntsville, AL; one brother, William Leslie Nance "Moody" of Nashville, TN; two brothers-in-law, Danny Baker (Debra) and Carl Baker (Vinda); one sister-in-law, Ora Lee Thomas (Robert), all of Gurley, AL; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside service for Mr. Howard Lee Nance will be Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Pastor Brandon Nance officiating.
