Andre D.
Jones
Jul 29, 1979 — Feb 22, 2021
Andre Drewsean Jones was born July 29, 1979 in Detroit, Michigan, and transitioned from this earth February 22, 2021. Andre, was affectionately known as "Doopey", "Shawny Pooh", "Dre" or "Trump". His storytelling, life lessons, jokes and bright personality could light up a room. He spent a lot of his time traveling back and forth between Detroit and Huntsville. Although often misunderstood, he loved his family and friends, and desired to always be there to provide encouraging words and laughter.
Doopey never met a stranger. He was the life of the party. Not surprisingly, he would later find a satisfying career as an artist and promoter. His name, "Big Trump", spoke of the love that he had for his audience. Never one to do anything small, he was always promoting the least, and was a fierce advocate for the disenfranchised and the underdog.
Trump hosted the podcast "Strictly Streets". Raw, yet thought provocations conversations that many were afraid to discuss such as health insurance disparity, racial injustice, and supported Queens of all colors. "Straighten up your Crown", was his motto!!
In 2006, he married Angel McKalpain. To this union, four children were born: (Shyanita), Pumpkin David (Superman), Scrappy (Aniya) and Sugar (Saniya). He was excited to have his "bonus-daughter", Shantinique affectionately known as Mook. Several years later, another beautiful daughter D'Asia was born in Huntsville, Alabama.
Andre was preceded in death by: his father, Andrew Jones; maternal grandmother, Audrey Pulliam Tanks; and paternal grandmother, Frances Jones.
He leaves behind those who cherish his memory: his wife, Angel; children, Shyanita, David, D'Asia, Aniya, and Saniya; mother, Ava Tanks Farr; siblings, Khari, Andrea, Cornelius, and Daniel; maternal grandfather, Alphonso Ted Tanks.
He also leaves his cousin, Jason Jones, who was more like a brother, along with close cousins Oprah and Brittani.
Finally, to the original six cousins: Kim, Marlon, Airrion, big brother Khari, and Tene. The bond of brotherhood remains forever.
A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Worldwide.
