On Friday, October 2, 2020, Mr. David Lee Freeman, Sr. peacefully transitioned from this earthly realm to his eternal heavenly home. Born on January 3, 1943 in Limestone County, Alabama, David Lee was the youngest of three children born to the late Theodore M. Freeman and Lillian (Fletcher) Freeman. He was preceded in death by his eldest brother, Theodore R. Freeman, Jr. and grandson, Clifford E. Freeman.

David Lee was a man of many talents. He was a wise businessman, industrious farmer, mechanic and an all-around "Mr. Fixit". He enjoyed helping others and serving his community with his talents. David Lee confessed hope in Christ and joyfully served at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Triana, Alabama.

In February 1962, David Lee married the love of his life, Marvelene Toney Freeman - a union of love and commitment that has endured 58 years. Their union was blessed with five children.

Those left to cherish his memories include: a loving and devoted wife, Marvelene T. Freeman; sons, David L. (Linda) Freeman, Jr., Bryan O. (Faedra) Freeman, and Shawn D. (Shalonda) Freeman; daughters, Greta (Jesse) Duncan and Lisha Binford; a sister, Sallie Caudle; sisters-in-law, Gladys (Paris) Bransford, Carol Toney and Jeanetta Freeman; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside service for Mr. David Lee Freeman, Sr. will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Triana Cemetery with The Reverend Dr. Tiwirai Kufarimal officiating.
