Mr. Willie Robinson was born January 3, 1951 to the late Mr. James Robinson and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Bone Robinson. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his residence.

He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Meridianville P. B. Church in Toney, Alabama under the leadership of Elder Walter Burwell.

Willie attended Mt. Lebanon, Council Training and Hazel Green High School. During that time, he was on the court playing basketball on dirt, concrete, or hardwood; he became one of the great basketball players of his time, better known to many as "Leaping Willie". He graduated from Hazel Green with a basketball scholarship to Snead State Community College in Boaz, Alabama.

He was united in holy matrimony to the late Barbara Ann Hinds Robinson for 38 years. He often replied after her passing that he just wanted to be with Barbara. Now they are together again.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter Clarissa Readus of Huntsville, AL; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister Lillie (Melchi) Vincent of Toney, AL; a loving mother-in-law, Viola Hinds of Huntsville, AL; three sisters-in-law, Pamela Hambrick and Laverne Bailey both of Huntsville, AL and Karen (Donald) Perry of Antioch, TN; one aunt, Lucille King; one uncle, Robert (Susie) Bone, all of Huntsville, AL; three devoted first cousins that he called his brothers and sister, Gregory Scruggs and Frank Howard of Toney, AL and Min. Mattie Bone Humphrey of Huntsville, AL; a cousin that was dedicated to feeding the chickens, Harold Hawk; a dear friend, Danny Drake; and a host of loving cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Willie Robinson will be Monday, January 3, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Dr. Maurice Childress as Officiant.  Interment will follow in the Robinson Cemetery.
