On October 15, 2021 the sunrise of eternity downed on the life of Willie Lewis Hammonds, Jr. at Huntsville Hospital. He was born August 2, 1947 to the late Willie L. Hammonds, Sr. and Mrs. Ella Mae Hammonds.

Willie was united in Holy Matrimony on June 20, 1968 to Huldie Louise Jones Hammonds. They were married for 53 years.  To this union, one son, Willie L. Hammonds III, was born. Father and son shared Hammonds Auto Repair and Towing Shop.

Willie was preceded in death by: two brothers, Ronnie Hammonds and Calvin Lewis; and four sisters, Dorothy Hammonds, Beverly Hammonds, Jewel Jones, and Lois Hammonds.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Ella Mae Hammonds; son, Willie L. Hammonds III; four sisters, Lillian Warren, Mary (Fred) Whitman, Emma L. Hammonds and Connie H. Marshall all of Huntsville, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside service for Mr. Willie Lewis Hammonds, Jr. will be Friday, October 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Gardens with Elder Dennis Green officiating.
