Obituary

Mr. Willie (NMN) Coleman, Jr. was born to the late Mrs. Mary Louise Lee (Donaway) and the late Mr. Willie Coleman Sr. in Selma, Alabama. Willie departed this life on June 30, 2024.

Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death: Mrs. Carolyn Ann Fair; Mrs. Pearlie Maye Beasley and Ms. Barbara Kaye Coleman and Mr. McArthur Jenkins.

Mr. Coleman was a loving son and brother, devoted uncle, and an extraordinary friend to many. He always had a smile for all who encountered him. He gave his life to Christ at an early age at the Mount Ararat Baptist Church, Selma, Alabama where he loved hearing the Gospel of the Lord being spoken and highly enjoyed the Hymns of the church choirs.

Willie attended and graduated from Huntsville High School in Huntsville, Alabama where he participated in the band and served as a Drum Major. Upon graduating high school, Willie attended Alabama A&M University, Normal, Alabama and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Willie was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. After college, Willie served multiple years in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman and was a proficient Electronic Technician. He later relocated to Nashville, Tennessee where he passed. He worked at Columbus McKinnon, La Vergne, Tennessee prior to his passing.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: three sisters, Ms. Mattie Coleman of Chester, Virginia, Ms. Linda Colvin of St. Augustine, Florida and Mrs. Darlene Lee-Jones (Lamont) of Huntsville, Alabama; three brothers, Mr. William Coleman (Cynthia), and Mr. Charles Coleman (Rosalind) both of Huntsville, Alabama. and Mr. Samuel Coleman of Snellville, Georgia. Additionally, Willie leaves behind a loving Companion (Ms. Marion Wilson) with Family. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews as well as friends and associates.

Memorial service for Mr. Willie Coleman will be Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
