Obituary

William Bershard Terrell, Sr., AKA "Big Will", was born October 14, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama to Theaphlias Terrell and the late Charine Terrell.

He departed this life December 4, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital.  He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Mareno and Benny Terrell; and his mother, Charine Terrell.

William graduated from J. O. Johnson High School in 1995.  He then attended Calhoun Community College. William coached Little League football and basketball until his health declined.  William and Cora were married on October 3, 2007 and to this union two children were born.

William loved the neighborhood kids and they loved him.  He welcomed them all into his home.  He was a joy to be around.  Though he has shed his physical shell, his vibrant spirit will have everlasting life.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife of 14 years, Cora Smith Terrell; three sons, Jakari Moore, William Terrell, Jr., and Andre Terrell; a nephew whom he raised as a son, Nathan Stone; his father, Theaphlias Terrell, Sr. of Titusville, FL; three brothers, Theaphlias Terrell, Jr., Pierre Terrell, and Eddie Terrell; one sister, TiaWanna Grizzard; grandparents, Charlie and Alice Harper of Chicago, IL; two nephews, Pierre Smartt and Tyriek Smartt; a special niece, Chanise Carter; one aunt, Yvette Veal; one uncle, Wendell Edwards (Sandra); father-in-law, Edward Walter; mother-in-law, Helen Walter; six sisters-in-law, Mary Murphy (Haron), Wanda Whigham (Mark), Jean Edwards, Tonvonnie Smith, Annie Bell Smith, and Linda Smith; four brothers-in-law, Howard Smith, Earl Smith, James Smith, and Walter Smith; two special best friends, Leroy Weed and Ryan Anderson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. William B. Terrell, Sr. will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
