William Thomas Stewart, Jr was born March 30, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. William was the third of four children born to William T. Stewart and Modean Crutcher Stewart.

William accepted Christ at sixteen years at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Toney, Alabama where he sang in the male chorus and combined choir. He attended school in the Madison County School system, graduated from Sparkman High School in 1973 where he also played trumpet in the Sparkman High School Band. After graduation from high school William enrolled into Alabama A&M University as a Business Administration major. He was a distinguished member of the Marching Maroon and White Band of AAMU.

Professionally, William served as a Detention Officer with the Madison County Sheriff's Department for 25 years.

William was preceded in death by his father, William T. Stewart, Sr, his mother Modean C. Stewart, and his sister Edith H. Stewart.

William leaves to cherish his memory, his loving brothers O'Neil and Dwight D. Stewart of Huntsville, Alabama, a nephew Christopher J. Stewart of Madison, Alabama and God-niece, Candice N. Martin of Madison, Alabama. And a host of loving and supportive relatives.

Graveside service for Mr. William Thomas Stewart, Jr. will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the Crutcher-Seay Cemetery (Toney, AL) with Bishop Alonzo D. Hatchett, Jr., officiant

Public viewing will be Monday, May 6, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
