William Henry McDonald affectionately known as "Bill" was born on February 12, 1938 in Triana, Alabama to Luther and Pearl Toney McDonald who preceded him in death. William Henry was the oldest of three boys, Earl D. McDonald who preceded him in death and Carlean McDonald.
William Henry's family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where he attended Cleveland public schools, graduating from Max S. Hayes High School in 1957. After completing his education, William entered the United States Army.
After completing his military service in 1964, William Henry worked as a machinist for White Motors which subsequently became General Motors. William Henry relocated to Huntsville and retired after 40+ years from General Motors/Terex.
William Henry was united in marriage to Valerie J. Mayo McDonald. To this union one son was born, William K. McDonald. His first wife, Valerie, preceded him in death. William Henry relocated back to Huntsville, Alabama where he was united in marriage to Shelvy Pratt McDonald who also preceded him in death.
William Henry was an avid hobbyist who loved golfing, cars, bowling and roller skating.
William Henry loved to praise the Lord. He was baptized at an early age at Beth-El AME Zion Church of Cleveland, Ohio under Pastor Amos A. Ackerman. He served as a faithful member of Beth-El AME where he and his family were responsible for building the current edifice. When William Henry's job relocated him to Huntsville, he became a member of Church Street CPCA, where he served as a Deacon and member of the Male Chorus.
On Friday, November 25, 2022, William Henry took his last breath and exchanged his earthly body for a spiritual crown to reside with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ after a short illness.
William Henry leaves to cherish his memory his son, William K. McDonald (Dormeil) of Nashville, TN; his grandchildren, Riane L. McDonald of Nashville, TN, Janelle C. McDonald of Cleveland, OH, Jordan C. McDonald of Cleveland, OH, and Donovan D. Tarver (LeTara) of Elk Grove, CA; his brother Carlean McDonald (Shelva) of Cleveland, OH; his stepsons, Jeffrey Head (Rayna) of Cleveland and Eric Head of Cleveland; his devoted nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends,

Funeral service for
Mr. William Henry McDonald
will be Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Church Street CPCA with the Reverend Dr. Mitchell M. Walker, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Faith Memorial Park.
