William "Billy"
Howard Bradford, Ii
Apr 26, 1945 — Aug 25, 2025
William Howard Bradford II was born April 26, 1945. He was the second of six children, born to the late William Howard Bradford, Sr. and the late Mrs. Tommie Mae Douglas Bradford. He finished his earthly journey Monday morning, August 25, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. Three sisters, Sharrion Denise, Doris Elizabeth, and Barbara Jean Bradford Winston preceded him in death.
He confessed Christ at an early age and was among the first children baptized in the "Fellowship" congregation under the pastorage of Rev. Ezekiel Bell. Howard participated in the children's choir and all church youth programs. He was educated in the public schools of Huntsville/Madison County, Alabama. He attended William Hooper Councill High School where he played trumpet in the band and later transferred to Councill Training School. At Councill Training, he was elected president of his senior class and graduated in 1962. After graduation, he attended Alabama A&M University where he studied industrial arts and electronics. Howard was a charter member of the Spartans Club which later became Pi Gamma Theta Fraternity, an organization that he genuinely loved.
During his enrollment at AAMU, he was employed in an electronic assignment in Paducah, Kentucky. It was here that he was diagnosed with narcolepsy. While narcolepsy challenged him, he did not allow it to destroy him.
Howard was a "people person"; and very creative. His passion was photography and wood crafting. He specialized in wooden Greek paraphernalia and produced creative pieces second to none. He loved soulfood; and was an excellent cook.
Precious memories of Howard will be cherished by his sister, Haley Bradford Bone (Walter) of Huntsville,AL; his brother, Frankie Bradford, Sr. of Atlanta, GA.; five nieces; seven nephews; a god sister, Sylvia S. Flakes; and a host of cousins, friends and colleagues.
