Thomas Sherome Clay, Jr. (Affectionately called "Rome") was born in Madison County, Alabama on September 27, 1959 to the late Thomas Otha Clay, Sr. and Geraldine Clay. He gained his gift of eternal life on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital.
He attended Cavalry Hill Elementary School and the Opportunity Center. He accepted Christ under the leadership of Pastor Timothy M. Rainey and joined Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church – Huntsville, AL.
Rome enjoyed listing to Country and Western music and loved to listen to the radio station "Love 1000" with Radio Host Reverend Walter Peavey. His favorite food to eat was a hamburger.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted mother Geraldine Clay; four uncles, Connie (Barbara) Sexton of Chattanooga, TN, Hollis (Clara) Clay of Scottsboro, AL, Walter (Polly) Clay of Huntsville, AL, and Paul (Alice) Elliott of Lawton, OK; one aunt, Doris (John) Hutchins of Stevenson, AL; and a host of cousins, other loving family members.
Graveside service for

will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Pastor Timothy M. Rainey officiating.
