Mrs. Sheila Bernita Parks Young was born in Huntsville, Alabama March 19, 1960 to the late Mr. Walter Parks, Sr. and Ms. Peggy Ann Johnson Parks. She departed this life December 14, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital.
Sheila confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Douglas Tabernacle Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Elder Robert Rogers.
She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Cleven Young and to this union three sons were born: Clevon Young, Delvon Young, and Jelvon Young.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Angela Parks and brother Derrick Parks.
Sheila graduated from S.R. Butler High School in Huntsville, Alabama. She served in the United States Army as a combat medic.
In 1990, she was mobilized to Saudi Arabia with the Alabama National Guard 109 th Evacuation Hospital. During this deployment to the Persian Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm) she provided front-line major-medical care and surgical treatment to her fellow soldiers. Sheila also worked at Benchmark Electronics Manufacturing until her health declined.
Mrs. Sheila Young leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted husband, Cleven Young; three sons, Clevon, Delvon, and Jelvon; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sibling; Walter Parks, Jr. (Louisa); nephew, Brennan Parks; three sisters-in-law, Yvette Young (Leonard), Marcell Holmes (Billy), and Doretha Harris (Robert); one brother-in-law, Michael Young; three uncles, Luvern Newby, Lathier Brown, and Harold Brown; three aunts, Nell Brown, Ninell Brown Drake, and Barbara Brown; and one great aunt, Anita Johnson.

Graveside service for Mrs. Sheila Bernita Parks Young will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Pastor Mario Ford officiating.
