Samuel Walker was born March 31, 1967 and went into the care of the Lord on  January 31, 2022.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Hopewell M. B. Church of New Market, AL.  He also attended Gravitt Chapel AME Church on a regular basis until his health declined.

Sam loved to play basketball and he seldom missed a chance to play in a pickup game with friends and relatives.  He also loved and cared deeply for his friend, companion and dog, Bishop.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: one daughter, Ashley Walker; oldest brother, David Walker; one niece, LaChelle Walker; one great nephew, Marcus; one great niece, Kintana; four uncles, Charles (Peggy) Walker of Huntsville, AL, Carl (Sharon) Montague of Detroit, MI, James (Tina) Montague of Giessen, Germany and Mickey Montague of Huntsville, AL; one aunt, Barbara Montague of New Market, AL; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Samuel Walker will be Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Wallace McCormick officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hambrick Cemetery.
