Ruby Glyn Haygood , affectionately known as "RURU", was born on June 16, 1965, In Harvest, Alabama to late Robert Mason Haygood and Evangelist Ophelia Davis Haygood. She received her wings on Oct.1,2025.

Ruby "RURU " accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Harvest House of Deliverance in Huntsville, Alabama, under the leadership of Bishop Wiley Whiteside, and Assistant Pastor Rev. Luther Haygood. She later joined Solid Rock Christian Center International under the leadership of Apostle Phyllis Morton.

In 2024, RURU retired from Homewood Suites in Huntsville, AL, after years of dedicated service. In her spare time, she found joy in traveling with the Voices of Faith and the Haygood Family. She loved bowling, dancing, playing UNO, and watching Syfy movies—always bringing laughter and warmth to those around her.

RURU was also musically inclined. She enjoyed singing and playing the drums in the Haygood Family Choir, where her spirit and talent uplifted many.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, her deep love for her church and family, and the joy she brought into every room she entered.

Those who preceded Ruby in death were: her brothers, James Lewis Haygood, Willie (Pookie) Haygood, and Robert (Boodie) Haygood.

Ruby leaves behind to cherish her memory and legacy, which will forever be cherished by: her five sisters, Veronica (Donnell) Mclin, Dorothy White, Jacqueline Haygood, Tonya Haygood, Edna Haygood; two bothers, Bishop Elmore (Minister Gail) Haygood and Reverend Luther (Dorothy) Haygood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service for Ms. Ruby "RuRu" Haygood will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at The Intentional Church (8155 Highway 53, Toney, AL 35773) with Bishop Abraham Moore, Pastor and Apostle Phyllis Morton, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Haygood Cemetery. Ms. Haygood will lie in repose at The Intentional Church one hour prior to funeral service time.

Public viewing will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 9:00 AM- 6:00 PM at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home.
