Obituary

Mr. Robert Lee Bell was born in Jacksonville, AL (Calhoun County) October 24, 1958. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Mary Helen Moore Deyon in May of 2009 and Leamon Bragg in June 1994; and his brother, James Derrick Bell, Sr. in August of 1991.

He graduated from Eastwood High School in Jacksonville, AL. Robert entered into the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Sergeant.  Sgt. Bell received the following decorations, AF Training Record Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon and AF Good Conduct Ribbon. He was Honorably Discharged in 1986. Robert also served in the Army National Guard.

Robert was kind and a private individual, but was always willing to aid others in need. He reached out and supported the homeless as well as his neighbors. His kind affection touched and influenced many and he was very well known for his support and kind heart.

His hobbies included visiting with friends, spending time with family, computers, and regularly speaking to his brothers. He shared a birthday with his only sister, Lorna Bell, and each year they would celebrate their birthdays together.

He departed this life on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, but his Spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: four brothers, Mikie Lewis Bell (Moreno Valley, CA), Johnny Bell, Sr. (Upland, CA), Paul Anthony Bell (Huntsville, AL) and Lawrence Antonio Bell (San Bernardino, CA); one sister, Lorna Sheree Bell (Huntsville, AL); aunt, Shirley Ann Wiggins (Huntsville, AL); three of whom he was very close to, Martha Reaves (Toney, AL), Eura Reaves (Huntsville, AL) and Alex Reaves (Guntersville, AL); and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We Love you Robert Lee Bell , and God Loved you more than we ever could.

Funeral service for Mr. Robert Lee Bell will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be Monday, August 16, 2021 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
