Memorial Service for Retired Sergeant First Class Isaiah V. Cross will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at the Indian Creek Association Tabernacle with Pastor Jukobie Jones, officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Berkley Community Cemetery
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the Indian Creek Association Tabernacle.

Retired Sergeant 1st Class Isaiah V. Cross was born August 22, 1974, in Madison County, Alabama, to Mr. David N. Cross and the late Winder J. Taylor. Isaiah passed on October 11, 2024.
He dedicated his life at an early age at Acklin C.M.E. Church under the leadership of Pastor Hurley Grisson.
His favorite hobbies were playing softball, bowling, and of course spending time with his daughter.
In October 1997, he joined the US Army. He served for twenty (20) years, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. His commitment to duty and service exemplified his character, and left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him.
His distinguished military career included service in Kuwait and the Persian Gulf. He was stationed in several locations, including Korea, Alaska, Virginia, Maryland, and Augusta. Throughout his service, Isaiah was recognized for his outstanding dedication and leadership. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (GWOT-EM), and the Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) to just name a few. He was very decorative in many other honors and US Army Medals. After retiring in October 2017, one of his proudest moments was working at the Pentagon.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother: Winder Jean Taylor
Isaiah is survived by his daughter: Maryn Cross; his father: David Cross; sister: Kecia Cross; two nephews: Cameron Cross and Cordarius (Skylar) Cross; two nieces: Keunna (Larry) Goode and KaDaesha Cross. A host of cherished great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends.
