Mr. Otis P. Smith was born in Huntsville, Alabama, September 15, 1930 to the late Eddie Smith and Mary Holden. He entered into eternal rest January 6, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital.

He was a seeker, embarking on a quest for a deeper and richer spiritual relationship with God, he became a member of the Oakwood University Seventh-day Adventist Church. He entered the workforce, and held jobs in different fields. He worked as a security officer, construction worker and automobile repairman.

Otis was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie and Mary; step-father, Earl Smith; step-mother, Odell Smith; and siblings, Willie Smith, Lillie Smith, Edd Smith, Otis Smith, James Smith, Riley Smith, James A. Smith and Leona McCrary.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three loving children, Amos Smith, Jr. of Nashville, TN, Amos Smith III of Huntsville, AL and Nicke Ann Smith of Nashville, TN; four sisters, Mildred Bell, Beadie Mae Wilkes (Charles), Sallie Patton (Porter) and Shirley B. Matthews (Roosevelt); one brother, Jimmy Lee Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside service for Mr. Otis P. Smith will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
