Minnie F.
Haynie
Mar 18, 1945 — Aug 18, 2023
Minnie Francis Williams Haynie was born on March 18, 1945 in Gurley, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Willie T. Williams and the late Scottie Bone Williams. She attended Councill Training School in Normal, Alabama and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1964. After graduation, she attained work on Redstone Arsenal with Air and Missile Defense.
Minnie began her Christian journey when she accepted Christ at an early age. She became affiliated with the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral guidance of the late Reverend L. F. Lacy. She was a diligent member of the Missionary Ministry.
Minnie experienced physical challenges with her health. God saw that Minnie grew tired and weary from her pains. On the morning of August 18th around 4:00 A.M. at Regency Retirement Village, God whispered to her, "Your work is well done. Come take your rest." She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie T. and Scottie Bone Williams; her loving son, Tyron Williams; her siblings, Willie, John, Rev. Roy, Harvey, Randall, and Olivia Williams.
Those who fondly remember and cherish her memory are: her devoted daughters, Jacqueline (Thomas) Knuckles of Manassas, VA and Traci (Otha) Rice of Huntsville, AL; one caring son, Orlando Williams, Sr., of Huntsville, AL; five grandchildren, Miesha Hill, Tealece Martin, Orlando Williams, Jr., Benjamin Knuckles and Victor Knuckles; three sisters, Katherine W. Hudson, Barbara W. (Booker) Weaver, and Dr. Carolyn (John) Butler; one brother, Gregory (Hazel) Williams, all of Huntsville, AL; and one sister-in-law, Ada F. Williams of Huntsville, AL. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the Union Chapel Church family.
