Martha Fields (Baby Sister) was born November 3, 1940, to the late Ed Fields, Sr., and Nancy Taylor in Birmingham, Alabama. She departed this life to eternal rest on October 5, 2024.

Martha confessed her faith in Christ and united with Pine Grove C.M.E. Church. Her final fellowship church was Emmanuel Connection Church under the leadership of Dr. Karockas Watkins.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Louise Fields; brothers: Eddie Fields, Jr., Edward Jerome (Mary) Fields, Harold Ross Fields, and Willie C. Fields.

Martha leaves to cherish a lifetime of her memory: a devoted husband: Bobby Hereford; five sons: Robert (Connie) Lee Summers of Clarksville, Tennessee, Ricky (Lisa) Summers, Fredrick Summers, Arthur L. Summers, Jr., and Mark Summers all of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter: Ivy Cornelia Summers of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren: Jasmine, Jermany, Rickey, Jr., Ashley, Zolah, Xeryus, Tyeasha, Mickie, Quincy, Quinton, and Byron; four brothers: Robert (Gloria) Fields of Huntsville, Alabama, Walter Fields of Piedmont, Alabama, Alexander (Katie) Fields of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jessie (Shelia) Fields of Harvest, Alabama; sister: Nancy (Nelson) Nesbitt of Bradenton, Florida; sister-in-law: Marie Fields; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, loving relatives, and friends.

Funeral service for Mrs. Martha Fields Matthews will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Emmanuel Connection Church with Dr. Karockas Watkins, Officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley View Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Matthews will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time at Emmanuel Connection Church.

Public Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home.
