Maia
Sterns
Apr 27, 1997 — Jan 21, 2025
Maia M. Sterns was born to C. Lamar Sterns, Sr. and Sybil Greenwood on April 27, 1997 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. On Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 1:10 p.m. Maia was called home by her Heavenly Father.
She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Overseer Myrtle Sterns of Cedar Creek House of Prayer Church.
Maia was a 2015 graduate of Sparkman High School. While at Sparkman, she was an awesome volleyball player. She was a 4-year starter on the Varsity Volleyball Team and continued on numerous Club traveling volleyball teams throughout the Huntsville area.
After high school, Maia attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, her "Happy Place". While attending FAMU the people and places inspired her to start her journey of entrepreneurship, creating "Divine We Step, Natural Foot Care Services".
Maia was a true naturalist. She enjoyed the cultures of Africa, this resulted in her growing "Loc of Love".
Upon attending FAMU for three years, Maia returned home to continue her education at Alabama A&M University. She was looking forward to graduating in May of 2025 with Honors and receiving a bachelor's degree.
Our precious, "Meti Mo", as we affectionately called her, enjoyed life to the fullest, always ready for the next adventure. She was inspired by some and was an inspiration to others, always loving and caring for family and friends. Her abundance of friends can attest to these qualities.
Preceding her in death are: paternal grandparents, Brooks Breedlove and Myrtle C. Sterns; and maternal grandparents, McKinnie and Ora Lee Greenwood.
Memories of Maia will forever live in the hearts of: her parents, C. Lamar Sterns, Sr. and Sybil Greenwood; brothers, Crayton L. Sterns II and DeCarlos Lambert (Maureen); a very special love, Jadyn Johnson; nephews, Crayton L. Sterns III and DeCarlos Lambert III; nieces, Payton Sterns and Jordan Lambert; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
May you rest in Heavenly Peace, until we meet again, we love you.
