Mr. Leonard Bernard Parks was born on June 13, 1961 in Huntsville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mrs. Ina Jean Parks and loving grandmother, Ms. Lillian N. Parks.
He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He later joined Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a faithful member, who truly loved the Lord.
Mr. Parks graduated from Huntsville High School and began his post-high school studies at J.F. Drake State Technical College in Huntsville, Alabama. He later joined the staff at Huntsville Hospital, where he served dutifully for 25 years. He was truly loved by his colleagues and friends.
Mr. Parks was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed helping others and spending time with his family, visiting his loved ones in far-away places, and bringing joy to his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Union Chapel Church Ministries, giving service for the sole purpose of carrying out the mission of the church.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife , Mrs. Debra Smith Parks of Huntsville, AL; daughter , Miss Alexis Nicole Parks of Huntsville, AL; father , Mr. Fred Croffitt (Brenda) of Buffalo, NY; beloved brother , Mr. Jeffery Parks of Fargo, ND; nephew , Mr. Jeffery Parks, Jr.; beloved sister , Ms. Tiana Parks of Fargo, ND; niece , Ms. Tenise Parks; loving aunt , Mrs. Nona P. Boone of Atlanta, GA; loving cousin , Mrs. Cassandra Boone Joseph (Conrad) of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law , Dr. Charles Crayton of Huntsville, AL; beloved nieces , Ms. Patrice Y. Boddie, Ms. An'Janette Yarbrough, and Miss Aja Yarbrough; nephew , Darian Yarbrough; special friend and Brother in Christ , Mr. Derrick Hunter, and family; beloved relatives : Miss Toreka Eason, Miss Renona Eason, Miss Alycia Hadley, Mr. Jamal Hadley (Kamilla), Mr. Walter Parks, Jr. (Louisa); Mr. Walter Parks III; Mr. Michael Parks II; sister-in-law , Ms. Lula Smith Yarbrough of Harvest, AL; and host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for
Mr. Leonard B. Parks
will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor O. Wendell Davis officiating. He will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral service. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
