Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Ann Johnson will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Petty, officiating. Interment will follow at the Valley View Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home.

Ms. Joyce Ann Johnson was born on April 13, 1943 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Gracie Lee Richardson Nance and Lee Johnson. She departed this life on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Diversicare of Big Springs, Huntsville, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Gracie Lee Richardson, Lee Johnson, and stepfather: George Nance; a son: Bobby McGlathery; sister: Alice Petty; brothers: Leon Nance, Wendell Nance and Willie Howard Nance.

Joyce Ann attended school at the Orchard Knob High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was employed by the Chase Nursey Company for many years.

She was a member at New Jerusalem M. B. Church in Gurley, Alabama where she attended diligently until her health declined.

She had a one-of-a-kind personality and sense of humor that just made your day while in her presence. Her laugh was contagious, she loved music and loved to dance.

Joyce Ann leaves to cherish her memories: two sons: Robert Lee (Arleen) Tigner and Jerry (Sharon) Doss, Sr.; three brothers: George (Hassie) Nance, Jr., Kenneth (Nancy) Nance, and James Nance; three sisters: Gloria Jordan, Mary Derrick, and Diane (Willie) Fletcher; sister-in-law: Wanda Nance; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
