Johnny was the loving son to the late Mrs. Charity Sanders. Johnny was born in Chicago, but raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior early on and was baptized in his family church, Church Street CPCA, in Huntsville, Alabama. Later he joined First Missionary Baptist Church where he was a devoted member under the leadership of Pastor Julius R. Scruggs. Johnny loved church! He attended and graduated from the historical William H. Councill High School in 1966. Johnny went on to further his education at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama . Johnny was employed at Redstone Arsenal and United Airlines for over 20 years. Johnny was a loving husband and friend. He was a natural mechanic and carpenter. He would share his knowledge and skill with anyone who was in need. He enjoyed eating with friends, taking walks in nature, listening to and singing music, and being with his family. As he matured in life, He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Sandra Ward of Huntsville, Alabama for 45 years. While joined in this union one child was born and they were also blessed to add two more children to the family.
