Mr. John Elliott Sledge was born September 8, 1961, to the late Lewis Sledge and Geneva Thomas Sledge in Madison County, Alabama.  He departed this earthly life on August 4, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital.

John was a graduate of J. O. Johnson High School.  He was an active member of Union Hill P. B. Church and served on the usher board until his illness.  He was a loving, giving, caring, and kind-hearted man and he will be truly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted mother, Geneva T. Sledge; two sisters, Michelle Sledge and Arechia Sledge; two brothers, James Sledge (Melinda) and Ricky Sledge; seven aunts, Maggie Wade, Roberta Douglas, Elizabeth Thomas, Amanda Bradford, Huldie Hammonds, Dorothy Key and Bessie Jones; one uncle, Leonard Thomas; a special friend Joyce Boatwright; and a host of nieces, nephews, dear family and friends.

Graveside service for Mr. John Elliott Sledge will be Monday, August 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Dr. Oscar L. Montgomery, Sr. officiating.
