Joanna Ewing, 47, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away August 30, 2024. She was born on October 3,1977 in Knoxville, Tennessee to George Ewing and Faye Scates Ewing.

Joanna graduated from Halls High School in Knoxville, Tennessee and shortly thereafter, relocated to Huntsville where she lived with family until her transition.

Joanna was very creative; she was an excellent swimmer, and she loved dancing. Joanna was selfless, often putting the need of others before her own. Joanna was always laughing and kept a smile on her face. Joanna never met a stranger and loved everyone. Joanna was a genuine person with a beautiful soul. Joanna you will truly be missed!

Joanna was preceded in death by: her parents, George and Faye Scates Ewing; grandparents, William and Amy Ewing and William and Effie Scates; and other siblings as well.

Joanna leaves to cherish her wonderful memory: daughters Jaylin and Jahmyla; sisters, Angela Ewing, Aretha Ewing, Brenda Williams, and Shree Wilson; brother, George Ewing; nieces: Jazmyn Brown, Kendra Badgett, Kierra Hargrove, and Sadaja Frasier; nephews, Tymaseol Provens (Tae), Xzander Provens, De'vontae Hampton, Lendez Hampton, Fortune Wheeler, and Elijah Wilson; uncle, Johnny Ewing; aunt Gladys Ewing, devoted godmother, Sharon Howell Walton; special friends, Maurice Brandon, with whom Joanna loved dearly and spent her last years doing life until her untimely departure; and a host of cousins,
family members, and friends.

Memorial service for Ms. Joanna Lee Ewing will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. from the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Dwight Clark officiating.
