On Friday, July 9, 2021, Deacon Henry Roydon Turner, Jr., peacefully transitioned from this earthly realm to his eternal heavenly home. Born February 18, 1934, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roydon Turner, Deacon Turner was the oldest of four children, and affectionately was called, "Big Brother."

Junior (called by family and close friends) served in the GREAT United States Army. After fulfilling his service obligation, he was honorably discharged. On March 31, 1962, he entered into holy matrimony to Mildred Sales, which they shared 59 years.

Junior accepted Christ and united with the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Toney, AL, under the pastorship of the late Elder Riley Townsend. As a dedicated member, he served continually as a Deacon for 46 years.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Roydon and Dessie Tibbs Turner; his brother, Jimmy David; and his loving daughter, LaTrece Shanta.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Mildred Sales Turner of Toney, AL; two daughters, LaToya Turner Whitsett (Greg) of New Market, AL and Laranda Michelle Turner of Toney, AL; son, Jevon DeShea Turner, Sr. (Suzanne) of Athens, AL; three granddaughters, Taléa Breone, Tamea Brélyn, and Ania Michelle, all of Toney, AL; grandson, Jevon DeShea, Jr. of Athens, AL; triplet grandsons, Joseph William, Jameson Mark, and Jaxon Henry who he immensely adored; one sister, Sadie Turner McCalep of Lithonia, GA; one brother, William Calvin Turner of Toney, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.

Graveside  service for Mr. Henry R. Turner, Jr. will be Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the Tibbs Cemetery (Toney, AL) with Minister Wilma Tibbs Booker officiating.
