Helen E.
Mitchell
Jul 4, 1954 — Jul 7, 2021
On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, Helen Emma Brice Mitchell, loving wife and mother, transitioned from the earthly world at the age of 67 at home in Madison, Alabama. Helen was born on July 4, 1954 in Culpepper, Virginia to Richard and Fanny Brice. She married Monroe (Mitch) Mitchell on November 21, 1974. They raised a son (Monroe, Jr. of Dallas, TX) and two daughters (Kelly of Washington, DC and Janelle of Redding, CA).
Helen prioritized God and family and was a fast friend to everyone who met her. She loved to travel even though she was scared to fly and married an Army pilot. She lived on three continents during her lifetime. Helen was an avid reader and was known to pick up the handouts on any side table she passed just to have something to read. She loved to share her wisdom, talents, and time and enjoyed her time delivering Meals on Wheels until her sickness made those deliveries too difficult.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband, three children, son-in-law, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
