Edna Davis
Brown
Aug 11, 1924 — Dec 21, 2020
OBITUARY
Edna Davis Brown was born on August 11, 1924 to the union of the late Bennie and Margaret Booker Davis in Madison County, Alabama. She departed this life on December 21, 2020 in her home in Madison, Alabama. All of her siblings preceded her in death.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late James W. Brown. This union was blessed with seven children. Her sons Willie Thomas, James Phillip and Donzell preceded her in death. Her grandson Rickey Moore also preceded her in death.
At a young age, Edna confessed Christ as her personal savior and was baptized as a member of the Pine Gove Missionary Baptist Church. Mother was a loyal and dedicated member of the church. She was involved in many aspects that allowed her to use her God given talents: Mothers Ministry for 57 years, Ushers Ministry for 40 plus years, the former Beautification Club No. 1, the former Senior Choir for 35 years and Chairperson for the former Benevolent Ministry. After many years of commitment to Pine Grove M. B. Church, Mother Brown transferred her membership to the Fellowship of Faith Church under the leadership of Pastor/Teacher Troy Garner. At Fellowship, she served as a Mother for the past 11 years.
Mother's greatest joy in life was caring for the sick and shut-in. Her family and the community-at-large affectionately called her "Mother" . She loved to sing, "This Little Light of Mine, I'm Going to Let it Shine". And her light did shine!!!
Those left to cherish memories and continue the legacy of Mother Brown include: her four faithful and loving daughters, Carolyn Bone (Alton), Joyce Griffin, Linda Smith and Betty Brown; a special daughter-in-law, Shirley Brown; a very special sister-in-law, Darine Davis; a special nephew - like a son, Tyler Davis (Deborah); a caring aunt, Rosie L. Hammonds and a special cousin, Gwendolyn Johnson. "Mother" was the grandmother of sixteen, the great-grandmother of thirty-one and the great-great-grandmother of eight. She also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, friends, the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church and the Fellowship of Faith Church families.
Public viewing will be 12:00-12:45 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020 at The Fellowship of Faith Church. Interment will be in Pine Grove Memorial Gardens.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral service for Mrs. Edna Davis Brown will be private with the Reverend Troy Garner officiating. However, the service may be viewed via The Fellowship of Faith Facebook page and YouTube Channel:
