Mrs. Dorothy M. Garner was born on April 15, 1937 to the late Walter and Marie Jordan and departed this life on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Dorothy gave her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church and servant of the Lord.

Dorothy was preceded in death by five brothers: L.S. Jordan, J. B. Jordan, Walter Jordan, Jr., William Jordan, and W. C. Jordan; a sister: Marie Garner. Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie M. Garner.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories six children: Michael (Vernell) of Huntsville, Alabama, Janice (Larry)White of Huntsville, Alabama, Deborah (Elijah) Williams of Plantation, Florida, Robin Jordan of Toney, Alabama, Sherry (Eric) Pruitt of New Market, Alabama, and Willie (Ron) Garner of New Market, Alabama; a brother: Sam (Lorraine) Jordan of Fayetteville, Tennessee, sisters- in-law: Jennie V. Garner of New Market, Alabama, Lillian Hampton of Virginia, Etta R. Jordan of Huntsville, Alabama; eleven (11) grandchildren, seven (7) great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A devoted and special grandson: Kenneth Garner, and special sister- in-law: Jennie V. Garner.

Funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Mae Garner will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. from the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, New Market, Alabama, with Pastor Larry Davidson, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Garner will lie in repose at Hopewell one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 beginning at 9:00 A.M. from the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home.
