Obituary

Darryl Ondrea Sullivan was born November 29, 1966, in Huntsville, Alabama, the seventh child and youngest son of George E. Sullivan, Sr., and Lillie Pearl Wade Sullivan.

Reared in a Christian-centered home, Darryl attended Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Big Cove, Alabama. It was there, with the guidance of his family,  he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.

Darryl graduated from New Hope High School, and upon graduating, attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama with a football scholarship. Unfortunately, Darryl sustained injuries that ended his dreams of playing professional football.

After graduating college, Darryl pursued his career in Atlanta, Georgia, where he resided for many years. Once again injuries sustained on the job were complicated with a chronic illness Darryl fought his entire life ending his career and causing him to become disabled. When he became disabled, he returned to Alabama where he had the love and support of family to help him with his health challenges.

Darryl may have been disabled but he never was discouraged. He lived life to the fullest. Everyone who knew him enjoyed him. They say that "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" and this was evident with Darryl.

Those who preceded Darryl in life everlasting are: his parents: George E. Sullivan, Sr., and Lillie Pearl Wade Sullivan; sister: Brenda J. Sullivan; and a brother: Terrell O. Sullivan. Those of us he leaves to celebrate his life are: his daughter: Shay Regular; sons: Montell Matthews and Dovan Coleman; grandchildren: Neko and D. J.; siblings: Sherrye (Sonny) Jasper, Lemon Sullivan, George (Carolyn) Sullivan, Jr, and Pamela (Robert) Reed; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly, and they dearly loved him.
