Mr. Curtis Eugene Nance was born on January 26, 1951, to Willie Nance and Mamie Nance in New Market, AL.  He departed this life on October 19, 2021 at his home.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bobby Dean Nance, Luther Carl Nance, and Thomas Earl Nance. He was known by many as "Curt."  His grandchildren lovingly called him "Papa Curt."

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was united with Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

He attended school in Madison County Alabama. Curtis later became one of Huntsville's local business owners as a talented residential and commercial painter.

Mr. Nance is survived by his wife of 33 years Clara Annette Nance; daughters, Lisa Teague (Ricky), Sherry Smith, and Yolanda King; son Daris Kelly (Cheryl) all of Huntsville, AL. Grandchildren, Brittney, Rick, Breayna, Tiahna, Lexie, Brandon, and Adrian.  Siblings, Dr. Jessie Hambrick (Mattie) of Flora, MS; Willie Ray Hambrick (Burlee), Waylon Nance, William Nance (Leaser), Sherry Nance, and Melisha Nance all of Huntsville, AL; Ester Lacy of New Market, AL; Angela Woods (Mack) of Gurley, AL; nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service for Mr. Curtis Eugene Nance will be Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
