Brother Charles E. Wilkes was born October 7, 945 in Fulton County, Georgia to Ruby Dorsey Wilson. Charles was raised by his grandmother, Irene Dorsey, who he truly loved and cherished. Charles departed this life peacefully on September 6, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital HealthCare.
Minister Charles Wilkes loved the Lord and loved sharing the Word of God. He found true joy in serving as an Assistant Chaplain and helping others.
Mr. Charles E. Wilkes was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, and his wife, Mrs. Beadie Wilkes, and three children.
He leaves to cherish his memoires four daughters: Wanda White, Wanda Smith, Priscilla (Mark) Pride, and Regina (Timothy) Baker; three sons: Michael (Fatou) Humphrey, Willie (Julie) Smith, and Aaron (Victoria) Smith; sixteen grandchildren: Andrea Smith, Thomas Smith, LaShunda Smith, Latasha Smith, Krystal (Ron) Evans, Keyona White, Marcus Smith, Rebecka Smith, Michael Pebbles, Aaron Smith, Shavonne Smith, LaVonda White, Margaret White, Terrance Humphrey, Xavier Alexander, and Rodney Horton; thirty-three great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a special friend: Elder Dr. Mylon L. Burwell, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Charles E. Wilkes will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. from the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Mylon Burwell officiating.
Public viewing will be held on Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 8:30 A.M.-6:00 P.M. at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home.
