Funeral service for Rev. Charles Edward Thurman, Sr., will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Belzoni, Mississippi with Rev. Roosevelt Thurman, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in Sutton Memory Gardens, Belzoni, Mississippi. Mr. Thurman, Sr., will lie in repose at Green Grove M.B. Church one hour prior to funeral service time.

The public visitation will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, at Smith Funeral Home, Belzoni, MS.

We offer our condolences to the family of the late, Rev. Charles Edward Thurman, Sr., of Huntsville, AL.(formerly of Belzoni, MS). Rev. Thurman, 88, transitioned from labor to reward, Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Windsor House Nursing Home in Huntsville, AL.
Our beloved Rev. Thurman leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Rev. Robert Moore, Rev. Charles Thurman, Jr., Rev. Roosevelt Thurman, Sr. & Mr. Eugene Thurman, Sr., daughters, Catherine Mayweather, Rev. Gwendolyn Thurman & Karen Harris, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
