Mr. Charles Henry Toney , better known as "Charlie", was born October 21, 1952, in Madison County, Alabama to the late John Henry and Irene Howard Toney. He was the third child born to this union. He departed this life Saturday, November 12, 2022.

Charlie accepted Christ in 2019 and joined Saint Bartley Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jaymes Mooney. Charlie attended Mount Lebanon School in Toney, Alabama and continued his education in the Huntsville City School System. He was employed at the Huntsville Housing Authority, Redstone Arsenal and Huntsville Hospital.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Brenda Jean Dunnavant-Toney.

Charlie leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Jermaine Toney and Jeremy (Kiana) Toney both of Huntsville, AL; three sisters, Mildred E. Toney Lanier, Ruby Conley, and Bobbie J. Eason, all of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Willie C. (Brenda) Toney and Ronnie Howard, both of Huntsville, AL; two grandchildren, Alexis Smith-Toney of New York, NY and Jeremy Toney, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; a dear friend, Clarissa Davis-Hammonds; a special person in his life, Marquese Baker; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Charles Toney will be Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be in Stewart Cemetery.
