Carolyn Edwards Carter confessed hope in Christ and joined the Blackburn Chapel C.P. Church under the leadership of the late Reverend McKinley Jones.  Preceding her in death were: son, Carl Lee Edwards; sisters, Louise Scruggs; brothers David Lee Edwards, Carl Edwards, and Doyle Edwards; and stepson, Marlon Jennings.

She is survived by:  two sons, Anthony Antonio Carter, Landover, MD and Wyatt Edward Carter, Limestone, AL; four daughters, Josephine Carter Lockett, Carolyn A. Carter, and Debra Jean Carter, all of Huntsville, AL and Sandra Carter Pope, New Market, AL; twenty grandchildren; sixty-three great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; three stepchildren, Thomas Hawkins, Alphonzo and Tracy Mitchell, and Estella Jones; sisters-in-law, Bettye Russell Edwards, Eloise Edwards, Doris Carter, and Joanne Readus; two devoted friend/sister Melissa Butler and Oris Petty; and a host of devoted cousins (Briggs and Edwards), nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Mrs. Carolyn Edwards Carter will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020 in the Briggs Cemetery with Pastor Trevor Briggs officiating.
