Pastor Connie L. Mitchell was born in Morgan County, Alabama on January 21, 1951, to the late Rev. Tommy Mitchell Sr. and Dorothy Orr Neil Mitchell. He entered eternal rest on July 22, 2024, at the Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, Alabama.
Connie accepted Christ at an early age and founded the Liberty House of Prayer Pentecostal Church in Decatur, Alabama. He always had a servant's heart and was known for providing meals to the community. He retired from Wolverine and spent some time working as a cook for Bob Gibson's BBQ. He loved cooking and spending time with his family.
Connie was preceded in death by his parents and Siblings, Peggy Orr, Shelia Porter, Teresa Allen, Kenny Mitchell, Tommy Mitchell Jr.
Connie leaves to cherish his memories: Children: Chatan Robinson, Cornelius (Lakisha) Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell, Terry Mitchell, Connis (Carolyn) Mitchell and Annointenelle Mitchell. Three Sisters: Mary (Benny) Foster, Huntsville, Alabama, Marilyn (Hosea) Garret, Decatur, Alabama, and Frances (Billy Jr.) Jones, Decatur, Alabama. One Brother: James Chides, Huntsville, Alabama. Twenty Grandkids and Two Great-Grandkids: Prince and Princess Mitchell. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins

Funeral service for Bishop Connie L. Mitchell will be Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gilbert Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
Public Viewing: Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 12 noon - 8 P.M. at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
