Bettye Jean Donaldson was born June 14, 1966 in Huntsville, Alabama. She was the youngest of eighteen children born to the late William Amos Donaldson and Addie Lee Toney Donaldson. Bettye departed this earthly life on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Huntsville Hospital.
Bettye began her spiritual journey at Saint James Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of her father, Elder W. A. Donaldson. She was a proud member of the Number 2 Usher Board.
In 1984 Bettye graduated from S. R. Butler High School. She received her Associate Degree of Applied Science in Medical Office Administration and Medical Assisting. from Virginia College in September of 2002. She continued her studies and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Thereafter she attended Faulkner University to obtain a Master's degree, her plans were curtailed due to declining health. Bettye was employed in the Laboratory at Huntsville Hospital, over fifteen years.
A loving and caring woman, Bettye was known for her unforgettable smile and cheerful personality. She loved her family dearly and had a special bond with each family member.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, William Amos Donaldson, Jr., Edward Donaldson, Archie Lee Donaldson, Edmond Donaldson and Glenn D. Donaldson and one sister, Ada Bell Gurley.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving children, Janeka Kent and William Hereford; grandchildren, De'Ari and Jordan Kent; nine sisters, Ceola Oliver, Shirley Brown Love, Authurine (Freddie) Moore, Barbara Ann Donaldson, and Gladys Dillard all of Huntsville, AL, Eddie Mae Vaughn of Compton, CA, Dorothy Abrams of Pacoima, CA and Nerlen Glaspie of Triangle, VA; three brothers, Gregory Donaldson of Huntsville, AL, Isaiah (Tamika) Donaldson of Manassas, VA and John Tracey (Pjada) Donaldson of Columbia, SC; one aunt, Annie Lois Scott of Huntsville, AL; one sister-in-law, Linda Donaldson of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorial service for
Ms. Bettye Donaldson
will be Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint James Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Billy Jones officiating.
