Arthur
Hillian
Jun 11, 1971 — Jan 19, 2022
Arthur Hillian was born on June 11, 1971 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the fifth of five children born to the late Fannie Jeanette Stallworth Hooks and was the son of the late James P. Hillian. He departed this life, headed for his Heavenly home, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the age of 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Hooks, his father, James Hillian and his brother, David Hooks.
Arthur accepted Christ at an early age as a member of the New Greater First Baptist Church of Thomasville, AL and sang in the choir. He graduated from Thomasville High School where he played the trumpet in the high school band. In addition, he was voted the nicest, well-rounded young man and most likely to succeed in his senior class. Furthermore, he won the "Top Tuxedo Boy" title his senior year. Arthur later attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, majoring in Electrical Engineering, but did not complete his education because of his health. While there, he worked at the Tennessee Valley Authority as a cooperative education student. Throughout his varied career he lived in states across the country and worked primarily as a laborer. He continued to value education. He went to Drake State Community and Technical College with the goal of soon becoming an information technology professional. Arthur was a smart, thoughtful, and kind man who was good at finding the perfect gift for those he loved. He was loved and will be missed by many friends and family.
Arthur was a loving fiancé, son, brother and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory: a much loved fiancé, DeAndra Garner; a sister, Birtha Hooks Otey (Norris) of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Orlando Hooks of Santee, CA, and Thomas Hooks of Woodbridge, VA; two aunts, Doratha Pritchett and Malinda Wildy; one uncle, Rev. Luzell Stallworth; five "siblings-of-the-heart" cousins, Jackie Pritchett Hall (Kevin), Marshall Pritchett Jr.(Terri), Cinda Pritchett Byrd (Kerchal), David Pritchett (Stephanie), and Bonita Pritchett Horn (Darryl); three nieces, Danielle Otey of Huntsville, AL, Gabrielle Hooks of Oakland, CA and Leah Hooks of Oakland, CA; two nephews, William Otey of Huntsville, AL and Christopher Thomas of Los Angeles, CA; along with a host of other relatives, and friends.
