Obituary

Born August 24, 1939, Annie Ruth Bone Turner (AKA "Tutta") was the fourth child born to the late Freeman Bone and Mary Liza Cathey. Annie transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Annie fought a long hard battle of illnesses; however, she had an upbeat and thankful spirit. Annie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Meridianville P. B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Walter H. Burwell. She was a member of Meridianville No. 2 Choir and a member of the "Precious Few" Gospel Singers. She attended church faithfully under the leadership of Elder Dr. Maurice Childress until her health declined, later Elder Terrance Stewart became pastor of the Meridianville P. B. Church.

Annie Ruth was united in Holy Matrimony to Charles E. Turner, Sr. to their union one son was born, Charles B. Turner, Jr. (AKA "Junebug") and two daughters, Barbara Ford and Gloria Turner. She was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; two sisters, Mary Odell Green and Ruby L. Buckner; one son-in-law, James A. Ford; and one godson, Lamont Smothers. Her brother, Robert Freeman Bone (AKA "Bubba") of Decatur, GA, transitioned on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two loving daughters, Barbara Ford and Gloria Turner of Huntsville, AL; one son, Charles E. Turner, Jr. of Montgomery, AL; three sisters, Elsie Lee King, Fayetteville, TN, Earnestine Turner of Huntsville, AL and Doris Jackson of Meridianville, AL; one brother, John H. Bone (AKA "Doc") of Huntsville, AL; one step brother, Terry Thompson of Huntsville, AL; two sisters-in-law, Fairlyn Bone of Decatur, GA and Mable Massey of Huntsville, AL; four grandchildren, Anthony Ford (Ashley) of Foster, AL; Treschiel Ford, Antwan Turner and Qu'Tarius Turner all of Huntsville, AL; four great grandchildren, Kriston Turner, Qu'Marion Turner, Jayden Ford and Aubrey Turner; one special grandson, Braydon White; one special granddaughter, Shauntaye White; one goddaughter, April Smothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mrs. Annie Ruth Turner will be Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Dr. Maurice Childress officiating.  Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
